Christopher E. Blackett: Letters to his parents from the Crimea

Title Letter to father, [Camp] before Sebastopol
Reference MS Add.9587/30
Covering Dates 15 Feb. 1855
Content and context

Prospects for Edward getting into the cavalry, hopes "that old woman Lord Aberdeen has been kicked out", and new government will sent reinforcements. Lord Lucan has been recalled, he "does not have a high name among the cavalry", but his letter to Lord Raglan seems to exonerate him, and puts most of the blame on Captain Nolan.
