Tents have been blown down and valuable stores lost in a frightful storm. Sebastopol is no nearer to falling, "the British in all wars make a mess of matters till they learn by sad experience how to conduct them ... as to Admiral Dundas, one might as well take Mrs Nickleby and put her in command of the fleet, everyone agrees that he is utterly unfit for his position". |
