Content and context

Giovanni Paisiello (1740-1816), Italian composer, especially of opera. He was court composer to sucessive Kings of Naples, Ferdinand IV, Joseph (Bonaparte) and Joachim (Murat), 1783-1815.

Rondo, arrangement for piano of first two movements of overture to Paisiello's opera 'Motezuma' (1772), MS score, Italian, in a copyist's hand.
