A collection of 1094 letters, postcards and other items known as 'Sassoon's residual correspondence' although it does also include a number of items addressed to other persons particularly Hester and Theresa Thornycroft.
This collection was purchased by Cambridge University Library from Roy Davids Ltd in 1996.
Most of the letters (numbers 1-980) are arranged alphabetically by writer; at the end are sections for unidentified letters (numbers 981-1014), letters congratulating Sassoon on the award of the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry 1957 (numbers 1015-1044), letters to Hester Sassoon and members of the Gatty family (numbers 1045-1063), and miscellaneous odds and ends (numbers 1064-1094).
