The volume begins at Jolo on 10 May 1883 and concludes at Singapore on 26 July 1883. Running from the back of the volume are general notes followed by journal entries for Malacca of 12-21 July 1883. There are also a few further notes loose in the inside pocket. The first page of the notebook contains a list of letters addressed by Guillemard at the following places: Sandakan (21 May); Kudat (28 May); Labuan (21 June); Sarawak (25 June); Singapore (4 July); Malacca (26 July); and Batavia (30 July). This is followed by a list of places visited: Jolo (13 May); Tawi-tawi (20 May); Kudat (27th May); Usukan Bay (3 June); Labuan (10 June); Sarawak (17 June); Sarawak (24 June); at sea (1 July); Singapore (8 July); Singapore (15 July); and Malacca (22 July). |
