Thomas Man: Cambridge University Medical Diploma

Thomas Man (1655-1690) was born at Helmsley, the son of Thomas Man, vicar of Northallerton, Yorkshire. He was admitted pensioner of Jesus College, Cambridge, on 12 June 1671, and matriculated in 1672 (B.A., 1675; M.A., 1678; M.D., 1687). He was Rustat Scholar, 1672, and a Fellow of Jesus, 1676-1690, and was incorporated at Oxford, 1681. He was ordained priest in 1674. Man resided continuously as a Fellow, and apparently did not practice medicine. He was buried at Wollaton, Nottinghamshire, on 24 Sep. 1690.

Inside the front cover is the bookplate of Sir William Osler, Bart, with the number '7538'.
