Manuscripts/MS Add.6089-6090 contains:
MS Add.6089 Lace Pattern Book. The patterns are drawn on odd sheets of paper, mainly pasted into the volume, but with some loose at the end. Several of the patterns are on letters or circulars addressed to the Trevor family of Tingrith, Bedfordshire. According to the V.C.H., Bedfordshire, III, p. 435, there was formerly a 'small industry of lace and straw plait' in Tingrith, suggesting that the patterns may have been in local use. They do not appear to be lacemakers' working patterns, but tracings from existing pieces of lace, and are possibly a lady's collection rather than a lacemaker's collection. Fos 16-20r and 21v-24 are blank.
1 volume.
1825
MS Add.6090 Album of Tracings. A series of tracings from printed books on Etruscan vases and other illustrated sources, with inscriptions, 48 folios. Inside the front cover: 'The Misses Trevor. Tingrith. 1820'. Fos 7-48 are blank.
1 volume.
1820
