This is a text of the second-earliest version of Clarke's treatise, which was first published in 1666. The present text contains numerous omissions, which have been supplied in the margin.

The volume was previously MS 3599 in the collection of Sir Thomas Phillipps, Bart, and was sold at his sale at Sotheby's in 1897. Presented by Francis Jenkinson, 1909.
