Content and context

Thomas Pierce Williams was born at Kingston, Jamaica. He entered St John's College, Cambridge, in 1807 (B.A., 1812), and was a Fellow, 1813-1816. He was ordained deacon in 1812, and priest in 1813, and became Headmaster of Wolmer's School, Kingston, Jamaica, 1813-1814. He was Rector of Clarendon, 1815-1820, and of St Elizabeth, 1820-1851; Archdeacon of Cornwall, Jamaica, 1850-1862; and Rector of St James, 1851-1862. He died on 23 August 1862 at the Rectory, Montego Bay, aged 73.
