Content and context

The Calcutta Vernacular Literature Society produced magazines and translations in Indian vernacular languages of books such as Robinson Crusoe.

Minutes of meetings of the Calcutta Vernacular Literature Committee. The following signatures occur: J.R. Colvin, M. Wylie, W. Seton-Karr, J. Long, R.B. Chapman, W. Kay and H. Woodrow. Some of the concluding portion is in the hand of E.B. Cowell.

Presented by the executors of Professor E.B. Cowell, 1903.
