Thomas Hall, of Nottinghamshire, matriculated at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, in 1736 (B.A., 1739; M.A., 1742). He was ordained deacon in 1740, and probably became Rector of Westborough, Lincolnshire. He died on 19 July 1775.

A commonplace book upon miscellaneous subjects, mostly philosophical or theological, arranged under headings in no particular order, compiled by Thomas Hall, whose name appears inside the front cover with the date 'Mar. 6th 1735-6', 108 folios. In the front pocket are additional notes, an index in the hand of Thomas Hall and a letter from William Goode to [Thomas] Hall of 24 February 1741. Folios 94-108 are blank.

Bequeathed by Samuel Sandars, 1894.
