"Section 6 - Originally this had a jumble of miscellaneous sheets relating to Principia (and mostly written in the 1690s.) I have now reordered this as follows:

ff. 38/39 are now in 3960.11 (as ff.195/196.)

ff. 33-34 (date c. 1710-12) are now in 3965.12

New sheets have been introduced here from sections 12/17 of this box (Add.3965,) and relating to the first (unpublished) revision of "Principia" (1 ed. 1687.) Thus:

From 3965.12 - ff. 179-189, 266-280, 310-313, 324-325

From 3965.17 - ff. 635/636, f. 640.

From 3965.8 - ff. 74/86

Those parts which revise and supplement (PM) Bk 1: Sections 2/3 I have ordered as I think best. The remainder I have not gone deeply into." D.T. Whiteside, note stored with manuscripts and dated February 1961.

The papers now appear to have been returned to their original positions.
