Includes: p. 1: 'The following papers were collected by Mr Thomas Martin of Palgrave in Suffolk, and communicated to me, W[illiam] H[erbert] by John Fenn Esq., MA & FAS, at East Dereham, in Norfolk, 16 Sep. 1778.'

p. ii: '"Books in the custody of me Thomas Martin of Palgrave, which are not mentioned in Mr Ames's History of printing." (The above note before Tales etc. in p. 7).' In Herbert's hand.
